About Us
The Roof Assembly Ventilation Coalition
was formed in 2008. It represents roof vent manufacturers, suppliers of residential
roofing materials, and other interested stakeholders. The Coalition is organized under
the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association
The mission of the organization is:
“To be the leading authority and technical resource on ventilated roof assembly design and performance, and to be the responsible advocate for proper steep slope roof assembly ventilation.”
The RAV Coalition goals are to:
- Identify, develop, and maintain a repository of data regarding roof assembly ventilation as it relates to construction practices, energy efficiency, structural integrity, economics, roofing and system durability, ice damming, health issues, and moisture and/or temperature control.
- Review of repository and potentially pursue research where data is lacking to evaluate steep slope roof assembly ventilation.
- Monitor developments that may affect steep slope roof assembly ventilation technology.
- Educate specifiers, builders, architects, engineers, building code officials, municipalities, the public and other interested parties as to the benefits of proper roof assembly ventilation.
- Advocate on behalf of roof assembly ventilation stakeholders when steep-slope roof assembly ventilation is considered.
The RAV Coalition is headquartered in Washington , D.C .
